A Million Little Purposes

If you’re reading this, chances are you are trying to find your purpose in life. And if you’re like me, it could seem like you have a million little purposes on any given day…but none that make you feel purposeful. Understand that just because you are good at something doesn’t mean that it is your sole value to the world around you. And just because you suck at something doesn’t mean it wasn’t meant for you to do either.
One day, I was staring closely at an ant carrying back to its nest a big ass bread crumb about five times its size. I wondered if the ant had any fcking clue about what it was doing or why. Are ants self-aware? Do ants question their purpose? Dogs? Cats? Birds? Earthworms? Then I realized it was audacious for me to assume only humankind could be worthy of a purpose bigger than itself OR to think one purpose is more valuable than the other. The greater purpose…in the grand scheme of things…is really just a million little purposes happening everywhere, all together, and at once.
